A new page for your site is something you can make yourself now, and so is the order of the links along the top of every page. Both live in the Dashboard, under Pages. Add a page
In the Dashboard, choose Pages in the list down the left, under Website. Above the list of your pages is Add a page. Give it a name, and the web address fills itself in from the name; change the address if you want a shorter one. Choose Create the page.
The page starts as a draft. Nobody but the people who can edit your site can see it, and it carries a strip across the top saying Not published yet, so you can build it without anyone stumbling on it half done. It begins with its name as the heading and nothing else.
Put things on it
Choose Open the draft. You are on the new page, with the bar in the lower right. Choose Make an edit, then Add a section, and pick where it goes and which kind of section: words, a photo beside words, a gallery, questions that open, a call to action. Fill it in the way you would on any page, and choose Finished. Add as many sections as the page needs; each one is added where you point.
Publish it
Back in Pages, choose the page. Its settings have Publish. Once it is published it is on your site at its web address and in the list search engines are given, and the button becomes Take it off the site, which turns it back into a draft whenever you need to.
The rest of its settings are the same as any page's: the title in search results, the sentence under it, the picture a link shows, the web address, and whether it is for members only or kept out of search. How a page shows up in search on an Avistra website covers them.
Delete a page
Delete page asks first. The page comes off your site at once, but it is kept for 30 days under Deleted in the last 30 days, at the foot of Pages, with Put back beside it. A page you put back returns as a draft, with everything that was on it, so you can look it over before it goes live again. After 30 days it is gone for good.
Only pages made here can be deleted. The pages your site was built with stay; their title, address and the rest can still be changed in their settings.
Change the menu
In Pages, choose Edit menu. The links along the top of every page are listed in order. Each one has:
- its words, which you can change (leave the box empty to keep the words it was built with),
- Move up and Move down, to put it where you want it,
- Hide, to take it out of the menu without losing it (Show brings it back).
A link that opens a menu of its own, like one with a list of pages under it, moves as one piece with everything under it.
To put a page you made in the menu, choose it under Add a page to the menu, then Add to the menu. A page only shows in the menu once it is published, and it leaves the menu if it is taken off the site or deleted. A page you have put in the menu can be taken out again with Take out of the menu.
Nothing changes on your site until you choose Save the menu. If you would rather start again, Put back the menu the site was built with clears every change; your pages are not touched.
