Websites for family foundations, built and maintained.
A family foundation website tells a grantseeker what you fund, how to apply or that you do not accept unsolicited proposals, and who the trustees are. We design, build, host and maintain it for $79 a month, and update the grant cycle dates and the board without anyone logging in to anything.
What a family foundation website needs.
Most family foundation sites we have looked at are five pages, no portal, no news, and a change or two a year when a grant cycle date or a trustee changes. That is the whole build.
Who established the foundation, why, and what it has cared about since. The page a grantseeker reads to decide whether to write.
Your program areas and guidelines: what you fund, what you do not, typical grant size if you publish it, and geography.
The grant cycle, the letter of inquiry process, and the deadlines. Or a single clear sentence that you do not accept unsolicited proposals, which is a page, not a form.
The board, the officers, and whoever answers the phone. Short bios or names alone, as the family prefers.
An email address, a phone number, and a form if you want one. The annual report and the grants made list link out as PDFs.
That is the Care plan. Five pages and at most one form covers nearly every family foundation we have looked at, and a new cycle date or a new trustee is an ordinary edit, included. $79 a month with a one-time $200 setup, and every edit after launch is included.
A site the board never has to log in to.
No CMS for the board
A new trustee, a new deadline, this year's grants list. Email it over and it is live, usually the same day. Nobody on the board learns a page builder.
Your own page, not a listing
A foundation with its name on the door deserves more than an aggregator entry or a paragraph on a bank's site. Custom design, real typography, your words.
Quiet and durable
No plugins to patch, no tracking noise, no feed to keep fed. Hosting, SSL and backups are in the monthly, and the code goes with you if you ever leave.
This is not the plan for a foundation that runs an application portal with multi-stage forms, event registration or a grantee login. Those live in grant software, and the site links to it.
Two plans. Everything included.
Design, hosting, security, backups and edits under one monthly plan. Most private family foundations are on Care.
A fully custom-coded site, hosted, secured and edited for you. Everything most businesses need, and nothing to manage.
- Custom design, up to 5 pages, contact form
- Hosting, SSL, security, backups
- Unlimited content edits
- SEO built in
- Linked to your Google listing, if you have one
Everything in Care, plus more pages, email on your own domain and the forms that bring in work.
- Everything in Care
- More than five pages
- Email on your own domain, set up for you
- Booking, quote and intake forms
The longer you commit, the less you pay.
Every plan starts with a 12-month commitment and the setup paid today. Commit for 18 months or more and the setup is folded into the monthly instead, with nothing due today, and discounted up to 15% at 36 months. After the term, the price returns to the plan.
12-month commitment, then month to month.
Hosting, security, backups and content edits are part of the monthly plan. Anything outside it is quoted before it costs you anything.
Above ten pages, or where the site needs more extensive work, the one-time setup goes up. It is quoted before anything starts. Never a higher monthly.
The site is plain, durable code. If you ever leave, it goes with you.
What private family foundations usually ask.
We do not accept unsolicited proposals. Do we still need a website?
That is one of the best reasons to have one. A clear page that says you give by invitation only saves grantseekers a letter and saves your trustees the reply. It also puts the foundation's mission and board on a page you control instead of an aggregator listing built from your filings.
Who updates it when a trustee or a deadline changes?
We do. Send an email with the change and it is done, usually the same day. Every edit already on the site is included: dates, guidelines, bios, this year's grants list, a new annual report PDF. A brand-new page is scoped and quoted first.
What does it cost?
Care is $79 a month with a one-time $200 setup and covers up to five pages and a contact form, which is nearly every family foundation. If you want more pages, email on your own domain set up for you, or a letter of inquiry form, Grow is $149 a month with a $500 setup. Both have a 12-month minimum.
We use grant software for applications. Does that change?
No. Applications, review and grantee reporting stay in the grant software you already use. The How to Apply page explains the cycle and links to it. If you want the site itself to be the portal, we are not the right fit and will say so on the first call.
Ready before the next cycle opens.
