Websites for literary agencies, built and maintained.

A literary agency website is checked by two people who matter: an author deciding whether to query, and an editor deciding whether to offer. We design, build, host and maintain it for $79 a month, add every new deal and cover the day it is announced, and flip your submissions status the same day you ask, without you logging in to anything.

What the site needs

What a literary agency website needs.

Nearly every small agency site we have looked at is five pages: no blog, no portal, a cover grid that grows with each sale and a submissions status that flips a few times a year.

01
Agency

Who you are, what you represent and the deals of note. The page an author reads before deciding whether to query.

02
Agents

A bio and a manuscript wishlist for each agent: the categories, the editors you sell to, what you are hungry for right now.

03
Authors and Books

The cover grid and a short list of recent deals. This is the page that grows, and we grow it for you.

04
Submissions

Your guidelines, whether you are open or closed, and a link to the query tool you already use. The status changes the day you tell us.

05
Rights and Contact

Foreign, film and audio rights, the co-agents you work with, and how an editor or a rights buyer reaches you. One form, an email address.

That is the Care plan. Five pages and a contact form covers a one-agent shingle, and a new cover or a deal line is an ordinary edit, included. Two or three agents who want email on their own domain are on Grow. $79 a month with a one-time $200 setup, and every edit after launch is included.

Why it fits

A site that keeps up with your deals.

Every deal, the day it lands

Send the cover and the deal line when the announcement goes out and it is on the site the same day. The authors page never stops at last year.

Submissions status, flipped same day

Open in the spring, closed by summer. Email us and the page says so the same day, so no one queries a closed list because the page still says open.

Reads like the agency editors know

Custom design and real typography, a cover grid that looks like a catalog, and nothing that looks like a template on a directory.

This is not the plan for an agency that wants a client portal, a rights lookbook system or a steady news operation on the site. Those need a site you edit yourself, and we will say so on the first call.

Pricing

Two plans. Everything included.

Design, hosting, security, backups and edits under one monthly plan. Most literary agencies are on Care.

Commitment

The longer you commit, the less you pay.

Every plan starts with a 12-month commitment and the setup paid today. Commit for 18 months or more and the setup is folded into the monthly instead, with nothing due today, and discounted up to 15% at 36 months. After the term, the price returns to the plan.

Inside the plan

Hosting, security, backups and content edits are part of the monthly plan. Anything outside it is quoted before it costs you anything.

Larger sites

Above ten pages, or where the site needs more extensive work, the one-time setup goes up. It is quoted before anything starts. Never a higher monthly.

Yours to keep

The site is plain, durable code. If you ever leave, it goes with you.

Common questions

What literary agencies usually ask.

We sell a book and want the cover up the same day. Is that really included?

Yes. A new cover, a deal line and a bio change are ordinary edits, and every edit is included. You email the cover and the announcement and it is live, usually the same day. Nothing to log in to, nothing to learn.

Our queries come in through our query-management tool. Does that change?

No. Your query form stays in the tool you use, whether that is QueryManager or something else, and the submissions page links to it and shows whether you are open or closed. The site itself collects nothing but the contact form: name, email, phone, message.

What does it cost?

Care is $79 a month with a one-time $200 setup and covers up to five pages, which fits a one-agent shingle. If there are two or three of you and you want email on your own domain set up for you, or a sixth page, Grow is $149 a month with a $500 setup. Every content edit is included on both. Twelve-month minimum, and longer terms fold the setup into the monthly.

We are leaving a larger agency to open our own. What do you need from us?

The agent bios and wishlists, the client list and covers you are bringing, your submissions guidelines and the domain you want. We build from that and tell you the launch date on the first call. Once it is live, the domain and the code are yours, and the site goes with you if you ever leave us.

Open to submissions, and the site says so.

Tell us about the agency and we will reply within a business day.
